In cooperation with LibraryWorks, IBPA has a new dedicated eBlast offering - a customized email from a single publisher/company containing from one (1) to fifteen (15) titles sent to a select group of more than 20,000 librarians in one of these categories:
A) Public Library Adult Librarians
B) College and Academic Librarians
For this program, IBPA will work with you to design a targeted eBlast that includes book cover image(s), description, metadata, a link to learn MORE, and, if you choose, additional items like the story behind the story, author bio, publisher mission, and more. The email is customized for you.
The librarians who receive these eBlasts are LibraryWorks subscribers who have provided information (location, branch, position, etc...) that allows LibraryWorks to organize them into the groups above. In addition, LibraryWorks will send your email to the hundreds of librarians in your selected category (A or B) that have come to the IBPA booth at the ALA annual conferences in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
Every librarian who clicks on your cover image(s) or the MORE button is logged by LibraryWorks. This means that approximately 3-4 weeks after the e-blast is sent, IBPA receives a spreadsheet with that information. We share this list of leads with you, allowing you to follow up with the librarians who are interested in your title(s). It's a powerful way to grow your email marketing list!
The price for the Dedicated Publisher Library Market eBlast to 20,000+ librarians is $2,500 per eBlast for IBPA members (a savings of $400 compared with booking directly with LibraryWorks.)
What to expect -
As with all book marketing, results will vary. However, the average response to e-blasts of this nature is generally higher than other services and products sent to librarians. This is because the LibraryWorks list is an opt-in list – every librarian on the list asked to be on the list. Response to these eBlasts generally average 8-15% opens with clicks averaging 3-6%.
While this dedicated eBlast offering is new as of 2019, our expectation is that the numbers would remain consistent, and a 20,000+ librarian send would generate an average of between 600-1,200 leads.
