The IBPA member benefit

Buzz starts with NetGalley, where readers receive digital access to your titles in any genre!

NetGalley's extensive member network helps publishers and authors connect with readers, increase book visibility, participate in targeted marketing programs, and receive reviews.

This IBPA-exclusive program gives members the option to choose between a 6-month or 3-month spot on NetGalley and 2 unique promotional add-ons! Reader reviews are sent directly to publishers, and upon request, IBPA will send title reports, including number of downloads, feedback from listeners, and more.

*Note that ONLY IBPA can update, edit , download reports, and make any other administrative changes to your title when it is on NetGalley.

Required Materials / Next Steps -

After your purchase, you will receive an email containing a PDF attachment with instructions on where and how to submit your materials. Please make sure you have the required metadata before you begin filling out the online metadata submission form.

You will need a digital version of your book for this program. For most books, epub files work the best on NetGalley (12MB or less is the ideal size). NetGalley automatically converts epub files to mobi files, so readers will be able to download your book for regular e-readers and Kindle devices.

However, if you have an image-heavy book (children’s books, cookbooks, graphic novel, etc.) PDFs are the best files to use (12MB or less is the ideal size). For image-heavy books, epub and mobi files end up creating formatting issues for readers. One other note: PDF files do not convert well to mobi files, so we will turn off the Kindle option on these books.

We highly recommend that you get a professional to create your ebook files. For recommendations on ebook designers, visit our Member Benefits Page and under the “Creating and Distributing Books” section you will find a list of designers in “Design Services.” As an added bonus, IBPA members get discounts on design services at each of these companies.

All books posted through the IBPA NetGalley program are put into the "Read Now" section, which means that members on NetGalley can download the book without requiring the extra step of a publisher's approval. The "Read Now" page is one of the most highly-trafficked pages on NetGalley and books in that section have a much higher likelihood of getting more downloads, especially for unknown authors and indie publishers. This allows our members to get the maximum exposure for their books!
