(Manhattan Beach, CA - April 15, 2020) -- The Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) -- ibpa-online.org -- announced today that its 32nd annual IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ ceremony has shifted to an online event dubbed "The 'Shelter-in-Place' IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ Ceremony.”
As part of the online festivities, Gold winners in fifty-five unique book award categories will be delivered in four mini online "watch parties" from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Pacific, May 5th through May 8th, 2020. The original award ceremony was planned as an in-person event on Friday, April 3rd, 2020 in Redondo Beach, California, but was cancelled due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.

Ready to party (virtually!) with some amazing independently published books?
Come one! Come all! You're invited to join the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) community for the first-ever "Shelter-in-Place" IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ ceremony, an online celebration of the best in independent book publishing!
On May 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Pacific each day, IBPA is excited to host four unique "watch parties" live online via Webex. Each watch party will include a first-look at gold winners in a selection of the fifty-five (55) total categories represented in the 32nd annual IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ program.
All four virtual programs (see the Schedule of Events online here) are free for all - IBPA members and nonmembers alike. Simply RSVP to receive login instructions for all four events. You can then pick-and-choose which ceremonies to attend.

The IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ program, which includes over fifty categories recognizing excellence in book editorial and design, is regarded as one of the highest national honors for independent publishers. The program is unique in that the verbatim judging forms are returned to all participating publishers, providing entrants with direct feedback on each submission.
The prorgram is administered by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), with help from over 160 volunteer book publishing professionals including librarians, bookstore owners, reviewers, designers, publicity managers, and editors.
