(Manhattan Beach, California - April 1, 2020) -- On April 1, 2020, several IBPA members received an email from Follett Corporation, parent company of Baker & Taylor, telling them Follett is deferring supplier payments until the company "has been able to assess the full impact of the Coronavirus."

A copy of the email is below.

April 1, 2020 Email from Follett Corporation

Thank you for your inquiry. As with most companies, Follett Corporation, parent company of Baker & Taylor, is experiencing significant impacts from the Coronavirus. Due to the unprecedented, swift and necessary actions taken by Federal and State governments to mitigate the promulgation of the virus, Follett’s business has been significantly impacted by closures of higher education institutions, K-12 schools and public libraries. At this time, supplier payments are being deferred until Follett has been able to assess the full impact of the Coronavirus.

Please be advised that we have no information regarding the status or timing of payments. We will provide an update as soon as possible. Responses to inquiries may be delayed as we have implemented work from home arrangements for critical functions.

On behalf of the Follett Corporation and Baker & Taylor, we appreciate your patience and understanding during this unprecedented and very difficult time.
