(Manhattan Beach, CA - January 16, 2020) -- On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, President Donald Trump signed a "phase one" trade agreement with Chinese leaders that has many hoping the book industry will see an eventual end to tariffs on books printed in China.

Initial talks related to the phase one agreement were publicized in December 2019, with the Administration announcing the suspension of impending tariffs on picture and children’s books. In addition, the Trump Administration cut existing tariffs on books in half — from 15 percent to 7.5 percent.
