About the Program:

No matter what genre your book fits in, if you want it to sell you need to promote it, but how do you go about getting the word out?

A good place to start is with a written book marketing and PR plan. So when do you need to create one? What needs to be included? And how do you do it? These topics and more will be covered in the workshop, "How and When to Put a Book Marketing and PR Plan in Place."

The concepts taught in this workshop are not just about what needs to be done, but how to do it. You will receive insight into how PR and marketing works from someone who has been doing it specifically for books on a daily basis since 2009. You will walk away with a solid understanding of what needs to be included in your marketing plan — especially if you want to get the attention of book buyers at the retail stores (as well as consumers!).

About the Presenter:

Rachel M. Anderson, founder of the book marketing and PR firm RMA Publicity, has been recognized many times over the years for her extraordinary work ethic, strong writing and research skills and for her dedication to the task at hand. She has more than 25 years of communications experience across a wide range of disciplines. She currently works as a marketing & PR consultant and publicist, helping small publishers and those who have self published promote their books to local, national and international audiences. She also has experience as a television newscast producer, television newscast reporter, newspaper reporter and marketing and direct response copywriter.
