About the Program

Should independent publishers and author-publishers operate their publishing businesses through a limited liability company or a corporation even though it represents an additional ongoing expense? Or is it better to save money by operating as a sole proprietor?

Publishing attorney Jonathan Kirsch will offer a checklist approach to the pros and cons of operating as a business entity, including the use of an LLC or a corporation:

  • as a barrier to liability,
  • as a way of enhancing the perceived stature and value of a publishing business,
  • as a vehicle for the sale of the publishing business, and
  • for tax, estate and succession planning.

Don't miss this IBPA PubU Online webinar that will help you better understand your choices in setting up your publishing business!
