Small Publishers & Electronic Data Interchange (EDI): What You Need to Know
An IBPA PubU Online Webinar / Learning Level: Beginner
Never heard of EDI? Never fear! IBPA is here to help.
EDI is the standardized format used by publishers and retailers to exchange electronic documents such as purchase orders, purchase order acknowledgments, shipping notifications and invoices. EDI is commonly used by book publishers and distributors to exchange these documents with their trading partners, either directly or through the EDI network Pubnet.
This FREE webinar - open to IBPA members and non-members alike - will cover what every small publisher who might be ready for EDI trading needs to know, including:
- What is EDI?
- Why do publishers use it to sell books direct to retailers?
- What are the basic the technical terms and practices required to understand EDI trading?
- What do I need to do to avoid Amazon charge backs?
- How big do I have to be to consider working with an EDI service provider?
"Small Publishers & Electronic Data Interchange (EDI): What You Need to Know" is for any small publisher who wants to know whether EDI is relevant to their business. Generally, EDI works best after a publisher achieves $50K+ in annual sales, but all who want to learn more and begin planning for the future are welcome to join us!
