About the Program:

For an independent publisher, the topic of distribution remains daunting and mythical. What does a distributor really do? How much does it cost, is your program eligible, and more importantly, do you even need it? In this session, an expert in helping small and independent presses navigate the waters of distribution will spell it all out for you honestly. You will learn:

  • That distribution is not necessarily an automatic vault to mainstream success;
  • The evolving role a distributor plays in an industry that now has more options than ever for reaching your readership;
  • Whether distribution can be, or even should be, the next big step for your publishing program;
  • How to make your publishing program eligible for national distribution;
  • And how to make the financial model of a distributor work for you.

By the end, you should know exactly how to make what may be your most important decision as a publisher.
