Direct Mail Cooperative Catalogs

IBPA designs newsletter-type catalog sheets which feature a front cover picture of your book, along with a 100-word description. Also included are ISBN, price, a maximum of three distributors/wholesalers, and publishing company's name and address (which is not included as part of the 100-word description). All descriptive paragraphs will be edited to meet the 100-word requirement. The catalogs are mailed to the following areas:

Target Mailings and Cooperative Catalogs

Currently mailed 24-times a year to genre-specific reviewers (approx. 3,500), booksellers (approx. 3,500) and librarians (approx. 4,000). Total print run is 11,000. Bounce-back cards are included with the reviewer portion of this mailing and are handled as described in the Books for Review program. For results from bookstores and libraries, you should expect to see most of your orders coming directly from your listed distributor/wholesaler. Sample categories to which the program mails are: Psychology/Self-Help; Business; Travel; Education; Health/Wellness (see newsletter for a complete list of upcoming programs).

What to Send:
1. A 300 DPI .tiff file (CMYK) of book cover approx. 2" inches tall to designer@IBPA-online.org. Please indicate program and title in the subject heading. (If you are unable to send a digital file, please mail the books front cover to IBPA as soon as possible).

2. Title, subtitle and author.

3. A 100-word description of your title.

4. ISBN, price, number of pages, a maximum of three wholesalers/distributors.

5. Book's suggested genre.

6. Company name and address.

7.Website or email address.

What to Expect from Cooperative Catalog Mailings
Best case: Many review requests and orders from libraries and bookstores.

Average case: A modest amount of review requests and orders from libraries and bookstores over the next six months.

Worst case: Exposure to the market.

Because of the nature of cooperative marketing, it is possible that the mailing for which you register may be changed or rescheduled due to limited participation.
