“A successful title is “one that is consistent in sales. Some go nowhere, some start with a bang and then fizzle. Consistency is the key.””

Why did you become a book publisher? Well, I was procrastinating while writing my second book, and I wondered what I could do to avoid that for the moment . . . so I started a publishing company. Submissions began to trickle in, and now, just two years later, we've released 17 titles in both print and E-book.

What do you like best about publishing? Finally finishing a new release!

What do you publish? So far, we've published children's book, YA, fantasy, science fiction, dystopian, literary fiction, middle grade fiction, romance, holiday titles, anthologies, and even a cookbook.

What is the most effective form of marketing for your press? Darned if I've figured that out yet . . .

How do you define a successful title? One that is consistent in sales. Some go nowhere, some start with a bang and then fizzle. Consistency is the key.

Tell us about one of your titles about which you are especially proud. Danny's Grace. It's undersold and underappreciated. A wonderful book, a first person, stream-of-consciousness, and a fantastic read.

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving success? Time. As a one-person operation, I struggle to get it all done. Somehow, it works.

What advice do you have for newcomers to book publishing? Think long and hard. Don't jump in. You'll need capital - you can go cheap, but that only gets you so far.

How will you and your company be positioned in five years? I hope to be more well-known, to have our books in more retail outlets, and perhaps even a few awards. Of course, we'll still be publishing and will have released many more titles.

When you're not fully immersed in publishing, what do you do for fun? I read, write, and dream up more ideas...
