Why did you become a book publisher? A true adventure happened where an unknown animal got into my husband's sock drawer only to be discovered by the family cat. The story follow as to what was this animal later to learn it was a flying squirrel. From that moment on, my grandchildren loved to hear the story over and over and told me I should write a book so that this amazing story could be shared with all children, and that is what I did!

What do you like best about publishing? The enjoyment I see in children's eyes and having them learn some that relates to life.

What do you publish? Children illustrated books...

What is the most effective form of marketing for your press? Facebook, news media, television, radio, schools, libraries, book clubs, and on and on it goes.A lot of hard marketing work.

How do you define a successful title? A title that awakes a child's curiousity.

Tell us about one of your titles about which you are especially proud. THE SECRET DRAWER

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving success? All the many barriers that surround marketing and repeated calls and emails that you have to get peoples attention. It is a daily job if you want your book to reach the top.

What advice do you have for newcomers to book publishing? Remember you are the only one that is going to make your book stand out amongst the rest. A lot of hard work.

How will you and your company be positioned in five years? Top of the class.

When you're not fully immersed in publishing, what do you do for fun? I own and operated a manufacturing company, Maywood Industries, in Alsip Illinois, which I opened 28 years ago. We make specialty pallets, crates, boxes, skids and sell lumber and building materials, open 24/7... So when time permits, golf day, love reading, gardening, and relaxing. Memories family and grandchildren.
