Why did you become a book publisher? The publishing industry is a booming market today especially with the emergence of self-publishing which would pave way to a new generation of writers. It brings me great satisfaction to bring to life books that writers never even thought they could publish. To be able to aid those new authors to attain literary success with their write-up, to give them an opportunity to publish their work, it brings me great pleasure. Aside from the stable profit this business would bring, I love how it would play a big part in turning a writer’s dream into real success.

What do you like best about publishing? It would definitely be the creative process of coordinating with the author and getting their ideas on how they want their book to be published. It’s a very motivational and enjoyable practice on our side albeit challenging at times.

What do you publish? I publish a wide variety of reading materials from fiction to non-fiction as long as it does not contain explicit or inappropriate content.

What is the most effective form of marketing for your press? We provide a highly effective media campaign plan for each of our clients, working hand-in-hand with several media platforms. It’s all about providing the most exciting news. The internet has been one of the most useful tools.

How do you define a successful title? When the title has gained applaudable literary awards and has been positively received by its target market. It takes hard work to sell a book to its specific audience and to be able to get great reviews from them can be considered a high feat of success.

Tell us about one of your titles about which you are especially proud. John Githiga’s “The Secrets Of Success in Marriage”. It’s a collection of short stories about the secrets of success in marriage and it enumerates the twelve major causes of failure. It’s a very helpful book for marriage enrichment and is written by a very reliable author who’s been married for almost half a century.

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving success? As I’ve previously mentioned, the publishing industry is rapidly flourishing and with its development comes more and more competitors. The industry is a competitive field now which affects us both in positive and negative ways. We try to overcome those challenges by taking each of them as a stepping stone to further develop our services, and at the same time achieve personal growth as a company.

What advice do you have for newcomers to book publishing? You start small. Don’t set expectations that surpass your current capacity. Success will come but it won’t come instantly. It takes a long list of failures to achieve success.

How will you and your company be positioned in five years? We value all kinds of improvement, no matter how small, in our company. In five years, we would maintain a stable business and at the same time expand it to cater to an even wider variety of writers everywhere.

When you're not fully immersed in publishing, what do you do for fun? I just enjoy life in general and unwind through my hobbies. Spending time with friends and families is the best stress-reliever.
