About the presenter:
As Executive Director of Digital Publishing Technology for the Hachette Book Group, Phil Madans applies his expertise in editorial production workflows to identify, evangelize and implement new technology solutions for content creation, repurposing and discovery. He also directs Hachette’s title metadata optimization program, which has earned Hachette the BISG Gold Product Data Certification Award for the last two years.
A long-time member of the Book Industry Study Group, Phil is chair of its Identification Committee, serves on its Coordinating Council and overseas HBG’s participation in the organization. A frequent speaker at industry conferences, Phil has contributed to Publishing Research Quarterly and the Independent Book Publishers Association’s Independent, and has taught Digital Publishing at NYU’s School of Continuing Professional Studies. In September 2013, Phil received the first annual BISG Friend of the Industry Award.
