IBPA members can now "Ask the Experts Online" in the fields of Book Design, Publicity and Marketing, Publishing Law, Social Media, E-books, Amazon and more...
You have a question and you need an expert answer. IBPA's "Ask the Experts Online" program will get that answer for you and, in the process, help other members as well.
For more than 28 years, IBPA members have been "Helping Each Other to Achieve and Succeed". Now it's even easier!
How it works:
IBPA members choose a subject line from the categories listed below. Send your question to AsktheExperts@IBPA-online.org with that subject line and ask your question in the body of your email.
Please include your full name, company name, city and state so the IBPA staff can confirm your membership. IBPA will send your question to the "Expert" in that category queue. The question and
answer will be emailed directly to you as well as posted on the IBPA site for others to review.
To protect your privacy, IBPA will not share your contact information on the site or with the experts, but the experts' details will be made available to you if you choose to follow up with them.
The idea for this program is to share relevant, timely information with fellow members of the association, while answering the questions you have for your publishing business.
Please be brief and to the point, so that others may benefit from your question and the answer from the expert.
How to begin:
Choose a subject line below and email your question to AsktheExperts@IBPA-online.org. If your topic does not match one of the subject lines offered,
please use "Other" as your subject line and explain your question in the body of your email. Include your full name, company name, city and state. To benefit others, please be as general as possible in the explanation of your particular
issue. Questions may be edited for clarity. Please limit yourself to one question per email. Participants should expect to receive an answer to their question within 5-7 working days. "Experts" will not be contacting IBPA members directly.
Subject Categories:
- Book Design (Cover and back cover)
- Subsidiary Rights (Audio Book Rights Sales, Foreign Rights, Movie Rights, Paperback Reprint sales, etc.)
- Media—Radio/TV Interviews
- Specific Genre (Business, Children's, Cookbooks, etc.) Marketing and Publicity
We hope you will find this program useful, but as with any advice, we recommend that you make sure it fits your specific business needs. IBPA does not specifically endorse or support any particular group or service.
About the "Experts":
IBPA will be choosing "Experts" from every area of the industry, which may include current and former IBPA Board members and Presidents, former and current Publishing University and Publishing University Online speakers,
long-time established companies and/or those with many testimonials and recommendations from IBPA members.
Those interested in becoming part of the list of "experts" may contact Lisa@ibpa-online.org with the subject line, "Ask the Experts Online."
This very new program will no doubt evolve as we work together. Please feel free to call the IBPA office with any questions at 310/546-1818 or email Lisa@ibpa-online.org.
