We’ve made an interesting discovery. When we started publishing, we approached national associations and larger pharmaceutical companies about sponsoring our books on health. Most of them appeared interested but only wanted to mine knowledge that we had about niche publishing and then create their own books in-house.
So instead of letting the Goliaths steal our steam, we began approaching smaller groups about partnering. It proved more effective and eliminated having to deal with all the red tape. Moreover, we found working with local organizations much more rewarding because we saw the results in our own backyard.
